Mathematical modeling approaches to complex information security challenges Multi-disciplinary approaches to complex infosec problems that integrate operations research and systems engineering The application of multi-attribute utility theory to architecting holistic information security solutions Information warfare theory and applications
What I am looking for in prospective doctoral students: 1) demonstrated expertise in information security concepts, theory, and methodology, gained through a combination of education and professional experience 2) demonstrated ability to perform and document original research. Publications are a definite plus. 3) solid math skills at the calculus and above level.

Wyndrose Technical Group (Annapolis, Maryland) President, 1997-present Lead a small group of professionals providing information security and management consulting services to industry and the government.
Booz-Allen & Hamilton (Vienna, Virginia) Senior Associate, 1995-1997 Managed and performed systems engineering and information security engineering efforts for government clients. Included strategic planning and future systems architecture trade-off analysis. Supported Defense Science Board research efforts.
TRW (Rosslyn, Virginia) Senior Staff Scientist, 1994 -1995 Developed information warfare concept for engineering exploration.
Welkin Associates, Ltd. (Fairfax, Virginia) Associate, 1990-1994 Provided systems engineering support services to government clients. Led information security efforts for a multi-level mode system. Provided oversight support to government on system development efforts.
Booz-Allen & Hamilton (Bethesda, Maryland) Senior Consultant, 1988-1990 Provided systems engineering support services to government clients.
Sterling Federal Systems (Vienna, Virginia) Systems Engineer, 1987-1988 Provided systems engineering support services to government clients. Performed analysis of future communications impact on global Air Force intelligence data handling systems.
Defense Intelligence Agency (Washington, DC) Intelligence Officer, 1986-1987 Participated on systems development team for specialized computer support systems for the intelligence community.
U.S. Air Force Signals Intelligence Officer, 1982-1986 Served as all-source intelligence analyst at the Defense Intelligence Agency and as flight commander at the 6912th Electronic Security Group in Berlin, Germany. Developed and taught course in relational database structure and use while at the Defense Intelligence Agency.
